SESSIONS RECOMMENDS IS OUR WEEKLY SERIES WHERE WE SIT DOWN WITH A MEMBER OF OUR TEAM FOR A 5 MINUTE CHAT ABOUT THEIR CURRENT FAVOURITE RESTAURANTS.

Harry is one of our Business Development Managers within the licensing model, partnering our food brands with kitchen operators across the UK. He runs a food instagraam account called The Raw Cook but incidentally does not solely eat raw ingredients. Name is pending a change…
WHERE ARE YOU EATING AT THE MOMENT?
I discovered Taca Taco in Brockley market a few years back and fell in love with their birria tacos which is brisket braised for 6 hours in their own homemade bone broth with a mixture of Mexican guajillo, ancho and pasilla chilies, then the corn tortillas are dunked into the oil left over and fried with cheese, beef and filled with pink onions, coriander and homemade salsa before being dunked into the oil again. This is all served up with a tub of that beef broth to dunk your own taco into. I mean doesn’t that sound just mouthwatering? I found them incredibly authentic - not a tex mex but a take on authentic northern Mexican food, from Tijuana i think.
One of my other favourites from them is the Baja Fish which is crispy beer battered haddock with pickled slaw, pico de gallo, jalapeno crema and coriander (£6). The tacos themselves are bought in from a local authentic business and all the ingredients are fresh and tangy with homemade sauces. This is all then partnered with local drinks brands for incredible pairings. If you’re feeling thirsty, you have to try their frozen margheritas there too…
They have their Brockley Market stall which they do on Saturdays, then they opened a site in the Deptford Arches (which incidentally just had its first anniversary 2 weeks ago) and then most recently had a pop up in the Brick Brewery in Peckham. In the next month or so they are opening a full bricks and mortar restaurant in Peckham. Back to the Brockley Market because I must tell you about the breakfast burrito there… Perfect for a hangover or just a guilty pleasure Saturday morning, it is stuffed to the brim with streaky bacon, crispy hash browns, eggs, cheese and jalapeno crema (£9.50). Nothing more to say apart from GO!
OUR FAVOURITE TACOS IN LONDON
TACOS PADRES
This gorgeous spot in the heart of Borough Market serves up the freshest and classic tacos. Don’t limit yourself to just the tacos though, they also have delicious tostadas and oyster divorciados which is an interesting take on Mexican ‘divorced eggs’ in which two oysters are served with two different sauces.

TIGRE TACOS
Immense Chef ‘El Tigre’ comes from Guadalajara, Mexico, cooks up some drool-worthy fish tacos using seasonal ingredients. So, you’ll get a beer-battered “fish of the day” served with chipotle mayo and pickled cabbage when you obviously order their signature Baja taco.

HOMIES ON DONKEYS
The tacos you find here are stuffed to the brim with both flavour and colour. Good luck picking from shredded pork lathered in a chipotle sauce, the juiciest of king prawns in a chilli, garlic and tomato sauce and for those of you inclined, a vegan-friendly soy version.

LA CHINGADA
Perfectly priced and a hidden gem. What more would you want? The street food-inspired tacos here are the stuff of legends. Their El Pastor is their top seller and you can understand why, with thick-cut marinated pork, juicy pineapple, diced onion, and coriander.
